Vermillion Players announces auditions
Vermillion Players is pleased to announce auditions for Arsenic and Old Lace. Directed by Grant Sauter. Produced by Terri Heinz-Butler and Debi Donze.
Mortimer Brewster is living a happy life: he has a steady job at a prominent New York newspaper, he’s just become engaged, and he gets to visit his sweet spinster aunts to announce the engagement. Mortimer always knew that his family had a bit of a mad gene - his brother believes himself to be Teddy Roosevelt - but his world is turned upside down when he realizes that his dear aunts have been poisoning lonely old men for years! When Mortimer’s maniacal brother, Jonathan, (who strangely now resembles Boris Karloff) returns on the night that the aunts were planning to bury the newest victim, Mortimer must rally to help his aunts and protect his fiancé - all while trying to keep his own sanity as well.
Our second round of auditions will be held Saturday, February 3rd, 2024 from 9-2 pm and Sunday, February 4th, 2024 from 2-5 pm at the Vermillion Players Storage Building (202 S Pearl Street Pontiac, IL 61764). Please come prepared with a 1 minute monologue and ready to read excerpts from the script.
Various ages are needed and a variety of roles are available! Minimum age to audition will be 18. Rehearsals will begin in February.
The show dates will be April 18th, 19th, 20th, and 21st.
If you need more information, or are unable to audition during the listed times, please contact director Grant Sauter. Virtual auditions will also be accepted by sending a video of your prepared monologue to gsauter23@gmail.com
