Tornado hits suburbs Sunday
Some residents in the Chicago suburbs are cleaning up today after a tornado caused damage to the region Sunday night.
A confirmed large and dangerous tornado reportedly touched down near the city of Woodridge. Debris was scattered across Interstate 355, according to the National Weather Service, and buildings and power lines were damaged. Several thousand people were without power late Sunday.
Flooding was observed near a baggage claim at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago and there were plenty of flight delays due to the storm. Woodridge is located about 30 minutes southwest of Chicago.
