Thanksgiving enforcement results announced

Bloomington Police have released Thanksgiving enforcement numbers.

A traffic safety campaign was conducted from Nov. 22 to Dec. 2 aimed at reminding motorists to buckle-up and drive sober. The mobilization was carried out by the Bloomington Police Department in collaboration with state and local law enforcement agencies across the state to reduce fatalities.

Bloomington Police reported the following enforcement outcomes:

8 speeding citations

1 electronic device use citation

1 DUI arrest

25 other traffic citations

2 traffic arrests

The enforcement was made possible by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation and is part of the nationwide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns.
