State sees increase in international visitors

An increase in international visitors has been observed in Illinois.

More than two million international visitors were welcomed in the state during 2023 which is a 39-percent increase from the year before, according to the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.

The state’s economy benefitted greatly in 2023 from the visitors, representing a 47 percent increase in spending compared to the previous year.
