State budget deal announced

A Fiscal Year 24 budget deal has been announced by Gov. Pritzker and leaders in the Illinois General Assembly.

They have agreed to the budget framework which includes investment in higher education and early childhood, workforce development, public safety, behavioral services and more. It is an approximately $50 million budget.

The state’s spending plan must be signed before the new Illinois fiscal year begins in July. It is the fifth balanced budget since Pritzker has been in office.
