Stabbings investigated in Bloomington

Police in Bloomington were called to an apartment complex on Oakbrook Court Friday morning for a subject armed with a knife.

Officers located a man stabbed in the abdomen and the subject had reportedly fled the area prior to the officers’ arrival. The victim was taken to an area hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

A second man with injuries was located at a nearby shopping complex on North Veterans Parkway and also received medical treatment and taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

According to police, all persons of interest have been identified and there is no threat to public safety. Circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation by Bloomington Police.

“We are glad this unfortunate incident did not result in the loss of life,” said Bloomington Police Chief Jamal Simington. “Thanks to our first responders for rendering aid and sustaining life.”
