Spend Saturday in Pontiac
This Saturday, Sept. 21, is a great day to spend the entire day in Pontiac.
All three of the house museums will be open for free public tours from 1-3 pm. With each home offering its own unique glimpse into Pontiac's past. The Jones House at 314 E. Madison St. is Pontiac's oldest surviving brick home, The Jason Strevell House at 401 W. Livingston St. showcases iunique architecture and the city's connection to Abraham Lincoln and The Catherine V. Yost House and Museum honors the Pontiac native and prolific artist as well as her parents and siblings.
Other activities going on through the downtown area and Humiston Riverside Park include:
GTOAA weekend with approximately 50 GTOs taking off around 10 from the square to go on their annual cruise. The following day (Sunday) is the All Pontiac Car Show which will have close to 200 Pontiac cars present. That show runs 9:00-3:00
A Farmers Market is open 8:00-noon.
Livingston County Environmental Association Vermilion River Clean-up is 8:00-noon.
Route 66 Kite Festival at the Rec Plex will be held from 10:00-4:00.
Volunteers will be on hand to tour Bob Waldmire's Road Yacht at Centennial Plaza.
Historic Homes Open 1:00-3:00.
Summer Send Off is at Humiston-Riverside Park. Starting at 5:00, the final cruise night and food trucks will be open. Kaleidoscope Eyes, an acoustic Beatles tribute band, will be playing from 6:00-9:00 at the bandshell.
