Soil & Water holds 79th annual meeting

The 79th annual meeting of the Livingston County Soil and Water Conservation District took place last week in Pontiac.

Directors elected include: Gary Bressner, Tom Yoder and Lee Bunting. Partner in Conservation awards were presented to: Kari Harms, Joan Smeltzer and the Precision Technology Institute (PTI Farm) in Pontiac, operated by Precision Planting. Swartz Farms was named Conservation Farm Family of the Year, which includes the Gary Swartz Family and Craig Swartz family.

Rita Frazer with the Illinois Farm Bureau RFD Radio Network was the featured speaker this year. She has been the director of network and audio services for the network since 2015 and served previously as network anchor. Before working at Illinois Farm Bureau, Rita spent 22 years as an award-winning farm broadcaster on WSMI in Litchfield, Illinois.
