Semi crashes on I-55 Thursday

A semi driver was taken to the hospital with injuries after an accident on I-55 late Thursday morning near Lexington.

State Police say Troop 5 units responded to a single-unit crash at milepost 185 in McLean County shortly before 11 a.m. as a truck tractor semi-trailer struck an overpass pillar. Another vehicle received a flat tire from crash debris.

Part of the interstate was shut down for a crash investigation. No further information has been released by State Police.
