Saybrook man's body found in lake

HUDSON – The body of a 58-year-old Saybrook man was found in Lake Bloomington on Tuesday.

David L. Roesch was pronounced dead at 4:48 p.m. and preliminary autopsy results indicate Roesch died from drowning with non-fatal injuries of the forehead and lips consistent with blunt trauma, likely from a motor-vehicle crash into water.

“He did have severe hypertensive heart disease and obesity which would limit his physical reserve,” said a joint statement from the McLean County Coroner and Sheriff. “There was no evidence of an assault or other injuries such as sharp or gunshot injuries, infection or tumor.”

Authorities continue to investigate how Roesch ended up in Lake Bloomington.
