Rural El Paso wreck investigated
Two men in their early 20s died after a single-vehicle accident late last week in rural El Paso.
The Woodford County Sheriff’s Office reports police received a call of the wreck at 3:45 a.m. Friday on Route 24 near the intersection of 2500 East. A 2006 Dodge Charger was discovered in the ditch, which had come in contact with a power pole on the passenger side.
Authorities say the Charger was traveling at a high rate of speed while westbound on Route 24 and the only two occupants were discovered deceased inside the vehicle. Open alcohol was also discovered inside the passenger compartment.
“This is an open investigation and is being investigated in conjunction with our office at the Woodford County Coroner’s Office,” said a news release issued by the Woodford County Sheriff.
