Rezin: Restaurants singled out

Restaurants across the state are being singled out in Governor Pritzker’s mitigation orders, according to State Senator Sue Rezin of Morris, who represents the 38th senate district.

Much of Rezin’s district lies within Region 2 which is the most recent and last region in Illinois to enter into resurgence measures.

“Our restaurants are being forced to close despite the lack of data showing they are the culprit for the recent increase in COVID-19 cases,” Rezin said in a news release. “In fact, many local health departments show that restaurants are very little to blame for outbreaks.”

Rezin said when restaurants are being told they must close their doors and lay off employees, the governor owes them complete transparency regarding the data he claims to be using.

The senator called on the state senate last week to hold a public hearing in order to shed greater light on the Pritzker Administration’s mitigation rules.
