Problems arise with mobile home park

Problems at the Riverside Estates mobile home park in Pontiac have prompted the city to look at potential ordinances for similar parks.

Pontiac Mayor Kelly Eckhoff said the state has control over the “failure” of the park owners and nothing is happening because of that.

“We are working on creating ordinances that give us some ability to get in there and hopefully put conditions on the owners to maintain things a little better,” Eckhoff explained.

Riverside Estates is located on east Water Street.

This was the big topic of discussion during Eckhoff’s first official City Council meeting as mayor last week.
