Preschool screenings announced for county

Preschool screenings for 2025 have been announced in Livingston County.

A screening is required for consideration to a district preschool program and is for infants, toddlers and preschoolers (birth to five years). Children must attend a screening to be considered for a 2025-2026 school year placement in a district preschool program.

Areas screened include vision, hearing, speech and language, learning, motor and social-emotional. Parents should call the school where their child may attend two weeks prior to the screening dates.

Upcoming screenings include Flanagan, Cornell and Graymont on Feb. 25, Odell and Saunemin on March 3, Tri-Point March 7, Dwight March 10 & 11 and Woodland on March 19.

The free developmental screenings are offered by the Livingston County Special Services Unit, Livingston County member districts, Livingston County Health Department and OSF St. James Medical Center.
