Pontiac Police have released an update on a recent death investigation on south Oak Street.
Two subjects with gunshot wounds were located inside a residence in the 600 block of South Oak last week.
The two men, found without signs of life, were Joseph Martin, 59, and his son, Braden Martin, 25.
“Both resided together and were the only subjects present during the incident,” said a news release from Pontiac Police.
Preliminary findings list the cause of death for Joseph as two gunshot wounds to the upper torso from close proximity. The cause of death for Braden was a single gunshot wound to the chest from a contact proximity, according to police.
Authorities say there was no evidence of any type of struggle that had occurred within the residence prior to the incident.
Toxicology results are still pending and the investigation remains open.
