Outgoing Pontiac Mayor Bill Alvey, Alderman Bill Kallas, City Clerk Shari Dunham and Fire & Polie Commission Board member Dave Lopeman were all honored during an open house Friday.
It’s quite a milestone for Kallas who has been on the City Council for over 40 years while Dunham has been clerk for more than 20.
“We are just kind of saying goodbye and looking forward to many more years of growth and expansion here in the city,” said Alvey.
Alvey is preparing to turn over the mayoral gavel to Kelly Eckhoff in May.
“We have a great team here,” stated Alvey.
Mayor Alvey thanked the various department heads and acknowledged the fire department – which he considers one of the best in the state. He also said he was proud of the police department and the water treatment system upgrades.
The City of Pontiac hosted the public event at the Eagle Theater.
