Loda man dies in fatal wreck

State Police say a 22-year-old Loda man has died after a fatal crash involving a motorcycle in Peoria County on Saturday.

Authorities report Ian A. Nemeth Jr. was driving a 2008 Honda motorcycle southbound on Illinois Route 29 in the northbound lanes when it collided head on with a 2013 Toyota Prius. Nemeth was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries and later succumbed to his injuries, according to police.

The highway was shut down for approximately five hours for the crash investigation early Saturday. No further information has been released, including the condition of two occupants in the Toyota.
