Large drug seizure near Odell

On Dec. 1, an Illinois State Police (ISP) District 6 unit conducted a traffic stop that resulted in two arrests and the seizure of suspected methamphetamine weighing more than 5 pounds.


An ISP District 6 Trooper conducted a traffic stop on a passenger vehicle after observing a traffic violation on Interstate 55 near Odell. During the traffic stop probable cause to search the vehicle was established. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of over 5 pounds of methamphetamine found in the cargo area.


As a result, Angel Rupe, 21-year-old male of North Fort Myers, Florida and Devan Erving, 30-year-old male of Peoria, Illinois, were both arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver, and Possession of Methamphetamine.


Both subjects are being lodged at the Livingston County Jail and have been formally charged by the Livingston County State’s Attorney. Rupe’s bond is set at $150,000 (10% applies) and Erving’s bond is set at $250,000 (10% applies).
