Gun incident investigated

PONTIAC – Livingston County Sheriff’s Police continue to investigate a gun incident which took place in South Streator.

Authorities were notified Friday afternoon that multiple victims were involved in a shooting which occurred near the area of 14th Street and Park in South Streator. Several patrol units responded to the scene along with Streator Police and AMT Ambulance. This is believed to have been an isolated incident with no further danger to the public.

Police report one death has resulted from the incident which includes Rene Dominic Lipumano Ramos, 26. Anyone with information is urged to call 815-844-2774. Sheriff Tony Childress expects more information to be released in the coming days.

Agencies assisting with the investigation include Illinois State Police Crime Scene, Livingston County Coroner and the Livingston County State’s Attorney.
