Gospel group to perform
PONTIAC – Residents of Pontiac and the surrounding area will be introduced to the sounds of New Legacy Project during a Thursday evening concert (Sept. 9) at the First Presbyterian Church.
The group will give a free concert in the church sanctuary at 209 West Livingston Street in Pontiac at 7 p.m. with doors opening an hour prior. New Legacy Project is a gospel group from Nashville, Tennessee.
“They go from church to church, big or small,” said First Presbyterian Church Pastor JD Buchenau. “They reached out to us and we opened up the spot to them there at the church.”
“Doxology” is the name of the newest CD from the group with the hit song, “I’ll Stand,” currently heard on Christian radio.
Refreshments will be offered and the group will have a booth with CDs for sale. More information can be found online by searching for New Legacy Project or by visiting www.firstprespontiac.org. The church is located behind the fire station.
“You’re welcome to join us and join us at church on Sundays,” added Buchenau.
Buchenau started as the church’s full-time pastor in April and describes the congregation is a bit traditional and contemporary. Each week, they offer a Sunday morning breakfast along with Sunday school for all ages and worship.
