Fatal wreck in Iroquois County

CRESCENT CITY – A weekend crash in Iroquois County resulted in the death of a couple from Woodland, Illinois.

Authorities report Dominic Smith, 55, and his wife, Kimberly, 60, were ejected from their vehicle after it was struck by another vehicle which disobeyed a stop sign. Both were pronounced dead at the scene by the Iroquois County coroner. The other driver, Blake Martell, 18, and his 17-year-old passenger were also ejected from their vehicle and taken to the hospital, although their conditions aren’t known.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Iroquois County roads 1400 N and 1500 E on Saturday, south of Crescent City and southwest of Watseka.
