Fatal McLean County wreck

The driver of an SUV has died in an accident involving a tractor trailer on Route 24 near Chenoa.

McLean County Coroner Dr. Kathy Yoder reports her office was notified of the death near the intersection of Route 24 and North 3050 East Road shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday. The sole occupant and driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene with an autopsy scheduled for Friday.

“The name of the deceased is being withheld pending further notification of family,” said Yoder in a news release Thursday evening. “This incident remains under investigation by the McLean County Coroner’s Office and Illinois State Police.”
