Fatal crash involving school bus

NORMAL – A 19-year -old Normal man was pronounced dead Friday afternoon following a crash involving a school bus and passenger vehicle at Main Street and Summit in Normal.

The school bus, which was only occupied by the driver, was turning south on Main from Summit when a passenger vehicle traveling north struck the bus. The driver of the passenger vehicle had to be extricated by Normal Firefighters before being taken to an area hospital.

An autopsy was scheduled and the incident remains under investigation by the McLean County Coroner’s Office, Normal Police and the McLean County Accident Reconstruction Team.
