Fall enforcement results announced

Police in Bloomington have announced fall enforcement campaign results.

The BPD conducted a Halloween Enforcement Campaign resulting in three impaired driving arrests and one child safety seat violation. Additionally, officers issued 22 citations for speeding and 36 miscellaneous citations.

Special attention was given to late-night enforcement as data shows this is when the highest number of impaired driving incidents and un-buckled fatalities occur. The enforcement effort was made possible through federal highway safety funds provided by the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Agencies across Illinois participated in the statewide effort to save lives by removing impaired rivers from the road and ensuring more drivers and passengers are properly buckled up. This fall enforcement, which ran from Oct. 18 to Nov. 1, was part of the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” initiatives.
