EPG athletic director remembered

Residents of the El Paso-Gridley school district are remembering the high school athletic director and former El Paso varsity basketball coach as a “man of integrity” dedicated to the success of his students.

David Ferrenburg passed away unexpectedly Monday at Carle Bromenn Medical Center in Normal. His obituary lists one of his greatest passions as coaching basketball. He spent three years at Springfield Ursuline and 11 years at El Paso. Ferrenburg also worked as Athletic Director for EPG for 21 years and was a member of the Athletic Boosters club.

A private funeral is planned for Friday (March 15) and a visitation scheduled for Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home in Bloomington.

Memorials may be left to Danvers Fire and Rescue.
