Casson Media HS sports network launches
The Casson Media High School Sports Network, presented by Brandt and Bank of Pontiac, officially launches Friday night featuring Prairie Central, Ridgeview-Lexington and Pontiac.
Complete area coverage will be provided for high school football for the next couple of months before transitioning into high school basketball.
“We have assembled local broadcast teams with years of experience surrounding high school sports and broadcasting,” explained Kent Casson, owner. “Add to that strong media partnerships in these communities and you have a solid product.”
Marc Strauss, Jake Kennedy, Kellen Kennedy and Jaidin Rinkenberger will lead our Ridgeview-Lexington coverage while Jeff Curl and Mike Wolf will be the voices of Prairie Central football and Tim Scott, Ben Maier and Jake Green will cover Pontiac with contributions from Pontiac radio veteran Mark Myre.
Strauss returns to the microphone on Prairie Central boys basketball broadcasts on Fairbury News this winter with occasional help from Mike Norris and others including Joel Swanson. Eric Stock and Mike Rich help cover Lexington High School boys basketball games on Route 24 Radio this winter.
On Facebook, you'll want to follow the pages Route 24 Radio, Fairbury News and Eye On Central Illinois.
Route 24 Radio will be your home for Ridgeview-Lexington football game broadcasts this fall while Fairbury News is still the area's home for Prairie Central and Eye On Central Illinois will feature Pontiac Township High School.
Be on the lookout for occasional coaches shows in Lexington and Pontiac. The weekly Fairbury Newsmakers program resumes next Thursday, Aug. 31 at 6 p.m. from Emancipation Brewing Company near Fairbury. Each Thursday, different guests are interviewed from the Prairie Central and Fairbury areas.
