Career fair set for Friday


Saunemin Grade School is hosting their annual Livingston County 8th Grade Career Fair on Friday, May 5th from 8am-12pm.


Saunemin Grade School requires all 8th graders to take the Career Readiness Course. To conclude their class, they are hosting a county-wide career fair. The school has invited local businesses and community organizations to set up booths for students to explore career options and begin goal setting earlier in life. Area schools that are bringing 8th graders are Prairie Central, Tri-Point, Dwight, Cornell, Flanagan, Odell, St. Mary’s, Grace Christian, Pontiac Junior High School, and Rooks Creek Elementary, Prairie Central Junior High, as well as Saunemin’s 8th grade class.


Saunemin has 24 local businesses and organizations committed to being at this year’s event, making it their largest career fair to date.


The businesses and organizations that will be at the event are: Pontiac Parks & Recreation Department, Livingston County Sheriff, OSF St. James, Enbridge, Nicor Gas, Livingston County Humane Society, Livingston County Health Department, Farnsworth Group, ATI Physical Therapy, Streator Onized Credit Union, Pontiac Chamber of Commerce, United Way, Boys and Girls Club, Heartland Community College, Star Grieff Realty, Johnson & Taylor Law Firm, Accolade HealthCare, Affiliated Dentists, American Family Insurance, IHR-Pontiac, Illinois Farm Bureau, Photos by Amanda Rose, Interglobe Sire Services, and Nutrien.
