Pedestrian struck by pickup

CARLOCK – A pedestrian was hit by a pickup truck on eastbound Interstate 74 near Carlock this week.

McLean County Coroner Dr. Kathy Yoder reports the 58-year-old man was pronounced dead shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday. The coroner’s office was notified of the death around mile marker 125.

Responding agencies included: State Police, Carlock Fire and Rescue, Danvers Police and the McLean County Sheriff’s Department. An autopsy was scheduled and the man’s name was being withheld pending family notification.

The incident remains under investigation by the coroner and State Police.
