County marks first COVID-19 death

Livingston County has reported its first death from coronavirus.

Officials were notified of the death Sunday in accordance with state and local health protocol. This individual was a woman in her 80s who had been hospitalized. In a social media post, the Health Department said the news should remind the public of the seriousness of the pandemic and the importance in slowing the spread.

Recommendations to stay healthy include sheltering in place, wearing a mask and staying at least six feet from others when out in public along with frequently washing hands and sanitizing surfaces.
