First COVID-19 death for Ford Co.

The Ford County Public Health Department reports the county has its first death from coronavirus.

A man in his 80s with underlying medical conditions died from the virus. The health department said in a statement that everyone should consider themselves at risk for COVID-19 and everyone should stay home as much as possible.

As of Tuesday, the state’s Department of Public Health reported 13,549 cases throughout Illinois, including 380 deaths.
