McLean County has first case
The McLean County Health Department has announced the first coronavirus case in that county.
Officials said Thursday the man is in his 70s and was reported in good condition and isolated in the hospital. The man reportedly had no history of exposure to the virus before. The Health Department has been reaching out to those who may have been in contact with the victim to prevent virus spread locally.
Any more confirmed cases in the county will be reported to the public and investigations are ongoing with suspected cases in the area.
ILLINOIS COVID-19 UPDATE:
The state reported three more deaths on Thursday, including a Cook County woman in her 80s, a Will County man in his 50s and a woman from Florida in her 70s treated in Sangamon County. Illinois’ first COVID-19 death was just announced earlier in the week.
More than 20 Illinois counties now have confirmed cases, according to Dr. Ngozi Ezike, director for the Illinois Department of Public Health. More cases are expected to be identified as more tests are performed.
