Biden wins Illinois Primary
Joe Biden wins the Illinois Democratic Primary election.
The former Vice President defeated Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders. The state has 155 delegates at play and Biden has made a comeback thanks to a large turnout of voters in many states across the country.
Due to growing COVID-19 concerns, the various presidential campaigns have been shut down.
Also in Tuesday’s Illinois Primary, President Donald Trump won the Republican teicket over his opponent, Rocky De Le Fuente. Trump has now gathered enough national delegates to be the likely nominee for the party.
The Republican Senate Primary race went to Mark Curran, a former sheriff and state prosecutor in Lake County. Curran will battle current U.S. Senator Dick Durbin this November.
