Obituary: Estes

Mary K. Estes, 85, of Graymont, passed away Friday, January 24, 2020, at 6:40 a.m. at Good Samaritan Home in Pontiac.

Her service will be held Saturday, February 1, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pontiac with Pastor Mathew Berger officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded with burial at Pike Cemetery at a later date.

Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements.

Mary was born February 16, 1934, in Bloomington, IL to Ralph and Mildred (Wurmnest) Forney. She married James M. Estes on December 12, 1965 in Rowe, IL. He passed away August 15, 2016.

She is survived by her children, Joe (Callie) Estes of Pontiac, IL and Tim (Pam) Estes of Colorado Springs, CO and grandchildren, Jazmine (Austin) Harper, Maya Estes, Izabella Estes, Raven Estes, Lindsey Estes, Katherine Estes, Jadon Pfister, Shaelah Pfister, and Jason (Kari) Serpette

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; one son, Steven Estes; one daughter-in-law, Jackie Estes; one brother, Paul Forney; and one sister in infancy.

Mary was a graduate of Flanagan High School, Class of 1951. She attended Blackburn College and cosmetology school in Peoria, IL.

Mary was a wife, mother, and owner/operator of Charmay Beauty Salon in Pontiac. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pontiac, IL and a longtime member of Livingston County Fair Board.

Memorials may be made to the Livingston County Fair Board or Livingston County Food Pantry.
