Obituary: Hinz

W. C. “Carl” Hinz, 80, of Flanagan, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2019, at 4:18 a.m. at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.

Cremation rites will be accorded with a Celebration of Life at a later date. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements.

Carl was born October 6, 1939 in Cleveland, OH to Willard Carl and Bernadette (Markert) Hinz. He married Peggy Miller on December 28, 1984 in Washington, IL. She survives in Flanagan.

Also surviving are his children, Daniel Hinz of Bloomington, IL, Nicole Hinz of Pontiac, IL, Rodney Eades of Washington, IL, Ronnie (Billee) Walker of Madison, OH, David Walker of New Mexico, Dana Parmeter of Ohio, Theresa (Matt) O’Conner of Madison, OH, Vicki (John) DeJoy of Georgia, Debbie (Greg) Belle of South Carolina, Johnathon (Allison) Hinz of California, and Michael Hinz of Painesville, OH; daughter-in-law, Jeanette Hinz of Madison, OH; sister, Judy Alban of Avon, OH; numerous grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Timothy Hinz; one brother, Walter Hinz; and one sister, Diane Weber. Carl was a graduate of Riverside High School in Painesville, OH. He was a machinist for Caterpillar for 30 years. Carl was Catholic in faith. He was a member of the UAW 2096 and the Pontiac Sportsman’s Club. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
