Rural Pontiac man dies in crash

A rural Pontiac man has died following an accident involving a car and semi tractor-trailer at Route 47 and Livingston County Road 2300 North in Union Township.

Livingston County Coroner Danny Watson says the crash was reported to Vermillion Valley E911 dispatchers and responding agencies included: Saunemin Fire and EMS, Pontiac Fire Rescue, Livingston County Sheriff’s Police, Illinois State Police, Illinois State Police Accident Reconstruction unit and the Livingston County Coroner’s Office.

An autopsy has been ordered and the accident victim’s name has not yet been released, pending the notification of family.
