Obituary: Tribley
Mura A. Tribley 83, of Fairbury, passed away on Thursday, May 16th, 2019 at her residence in Fairbury.
Mura was born July 5, 1935, a daughter to Robert Francis Harold and Ann Monica Mura Carr at Mason County, General Hospital; Shelton, Washington.
She attended Oyster Bay Grade School and had her mother as her teacher for four years. One room (6 grades) with outside restrooms and a wood burning stove to keep them warm.
Mura graduated from Irene S. Reed High School in 1953, St. Peter School of Practical Nursing in 1956 at Olympia, Washington. She married Wildon J. Tribley November 16th, 1956 at Saint Edwards Catholic Church in Shelton, Washington. They moved to Fairbury, IL; in June of 1957, and divorced in 1980 but remained friends until Bill’s passing in 1994.
She worked at Fairbury Hospital for 22 years, Saint James Hospital for 9/12 years. After that she worked at Fairview Haven and Meadows part time. When she retired and no longer punched a time clock, she did home health care for 32 senior citizens in the Fairbury-Forrest area.
She is survived by son James (Tammy) Tribley, daughter Virginia (Eric) Ray, both of Fairbury; brother Harold (Joyce) Carr of Seattle, Washington; nephew, Rick of Vancouver, Washington; and three nephews Bob, Ron and Greg of Washington; five grandchildren, Ron (Amy) of Pennsylvania; Chris (Holly) Tribley of Fairbury; Andrew (Rainey) of Decatur; Abby (Trevor) Vaughan of Morton; Cyra of Wisconsin; thirteen great grandchildren, Kinsley, Kamden, Kendall Vaughan, Nora Tribley, Virginia and Elliot Miller, Jet Sky, Kashus, Karli, Logan, Benny, Lucas and Eva.
She was proceeded in death by her father in 1954, her mother in 1989, one half sister, Virginia Arrasmith 1999, nephew, James Arrasmith in 2009, one niece, Vicky Ann Arrasmith in 1962.
She enjoyed reading, watching Chicago Bears, Illini Basketball, Illini Football. She loved Christmas and baked cookies for 55 years for the family and friends until she decided it was enough. She collected cookbooks and tea cups and saucers. She enjoyed being outside and attending her grandchildren’s activities. She also enjoyed watching her great grandchildren grow. She also loved listening to Willie Nelson.
Per Mura’s wishes there will be a private family gathering. Cremation rites have been accorded and Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mura was brought up with this saying she passed on to her children, her grandchildren, in hopes it will be passed on to her great-grandchildren. “When a task is once begun, never leave it until its done labor great or small, do it well or not at all.”
