Zimmerman found not guilty

BLOOMINGTON – Kirk Zimmerman was found not guilty of murdering his ex-wife by a McLean County jury this week.

A verdict was returned Monday afternoon following over seven hours of deliberations. The Bloomington man was accused of shooting Pamela Zimmerman in a Bloomington office back in November of 2014.

Prosecutors said Zimmerman struggled financially while Pamela demanded overdue child support payments. Zimmerman’s defense maintained he was accused a crime he did not commit.

The McLean County trial lasted over a month.
