UPDATE: Fire was accidental

Normal Fire Department Investigators have concluded their investigation into the origin and cause of the house fire at 101 E. Irving Street on April 1.

The fire was determined to be accidental in nature. The fire originated in a wall space around the area of an electrical outlet. At this time, the damage is estimated to exceed $100,000, but the exact loss figure is pending the insurance company appraisal.
