William Eugene Beal, 88, Fairbury, formerly of Forrest, died at 9:24 am Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Fairview Haven Retirement community, Fairbury.
His funeral will be at 11:00 am Friday, February 22, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury with Pastor Tom Krieger officiating. Burial will be in Forrest Twp. Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:30 – 10:45 am Friday at the church. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be directed to SELCAS or OSF Hospice.
Gene was born April 2, 1930 in Minonk Twp., Woodford County, IL the son of William Henry and Magdeline Timmerman Beal. He married Betty Fendrick on March 18, 1956 in Chenoa. She preceded him in death on February 21, 2007.
Survivors include a brother, John (Nancy) Beal, Hammond, IN and three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Beal, Judy Beal and Esther Ricketts.
Gene was a 1948 graduate of Corwith High School, Corwith, IA. He was a longtime farmer and worked in the lumber business for many years. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury.
John V. Bellot Jr. age 56 of Pontiac, IL passed away early Saturday morning, (February 16, 2019), at OSF St. James-John Albrecht Medical Center Emergency Room from a massive heart attack.
John was born in Princeton, IL on August 28, 1962 to John V. and Ella R. (Bricker) Bellot. He is survived by his parents and brothers Robert (Amy) and Dan, and John also considered the staff and clients of Futures Unlimited as his large extended family. John was also especially proud of being on the Illinois Self Advocacy Alliance where he served on the Board at the state level as treasurer for the past 2 years; he was also actively involved in the “Speak Up-Speak Out” program for persons with disabilities. John enjoyed social activities at the Rec Center, Pontiac and others through Futures Unlimited. He liked to listen to music especially traditional country music.
John chose to be part of the Gift of Hope organ/tissue donation program and this will provide transplants for up to 25 people. He will then be cremated. There will not be a traditional visitation or funeral, but there will be a celebration of his life in conjunction with Futures Unlimited at a later date. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is assisting with arrangements.
The family suggests that memorials for John be made to Futures Unlimited Inc. in Pontiac, IL in John’s name.
