Dec. enforcement activity released


Illinois State Police (ISP) District 08 Commander, Gregg Cavanaugh, has announced activity and enforcement figures for the month of December.

Troopers in District 8, which includes 5 counties, answered 186 calls for service and initiated 1116 incidents in the field during the month. In addition, enforcement figures totaled 502 citations and 572 written warnings, including 247 speeding citations, 7 DUI citations, 38 seatbelt citations, 3 child restraint citations, 133 written warnings for speeding, and 21 criminal arrests.

Troopers also assisted 195 motorists, investigated 49 traffic crashes, and conducted 143 motor carrier inspections resulting in 11 unsafe commercial motor vehicles/drivers being placed out of service. During the month, 321 citations were issued for “Fatal Four” violations. These violations are most associated with fatal traffic crashes and include Speeding, DUI, Failure to Wear a Seatbelt, and Distracted Driving.
