Francis Gene Ferguson, 89 of Fairbury, died at 8:05pm, Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Accolade Healthcare in Pontiac.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.
Francis was born March 17, 1929 in Saunemin, the son of Pharis N and Nancy B. (Brady) Ferguson. He married Mary C. DeFrees on June 16, 1951 in Pontiac; she preceded him in death in December 1988. He then married Margaret Neth on June 18, 1990 in Orange County, CA; she also preceded him in death in July 2001. He later married Marian Knutson on June 17, 2002 in New Mexico; she survives in Fairbury.
Also surviving are his children, Mike (Sandy) Ferguson of Poplar Grove, IL, Paul (Jennifer) Ferguson of Morris, IL, Nancy Ferguson of Morris, IL, Liz (Matt) Nussmeier of Winter Haven, FL, John (Valentina) Ferguson of Beaver, UT, and Ted Ferguson of Colorado; step-children, Calvin (Deb) Knutson of Streator, IL, Judy (Kenny) Scurlock of Fairbury, IL, Todd (Dena) Knutson of Braidwood, IL, Andy (Laura) Knutson of Raymond, IL, and James (Traci) Knutson of Coal City, IL; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren; and one brother, William H. Ferguson of DeBary, FL.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Danny Ferguson and 5 siblings.
Mr. Ferguson served in the U.S. Air Force from 1947 to 1950. He attended Faith Fellowship Church of Fairbury and was a member of the IBEW Electrical Union for over 60 years.
Paul Glen Noe, 79, of Lake of Egypt, Creal Springs, IL, with the love of his life at his side, went with Jesus on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin, IL.
A visitation will be held Friday, December 21, 2018, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac, IL.
His funeral service will be at the funeral home Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. with Dwayne Phelps, nephew, officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Pontiac.
Serving as pallbearers will be grandchildren, Christopher Hall, David Hall, Heather Sethman, Noah Orwick, Tayanie Boyington, and Joseph Vickers.
Paul was born May 20, 1939, in Leona Mines, VA to Chester and Hazel (Stidham) Noe. He married Delores (Cashmer) Kovalcik on May 27, 1990 in Cornell, IL. Survivors include his beloved wife and four children, Cynthia (Tedd) Springer, Diana ( Robert) Smith, Kimberly Orwick, all of Chardon, OH and Jason (Janine) Kovalcik of Streator, IL; two brothers, Don (Brenda) Noe of Wickliffe, OH and Dale Noe of Belleville, IL; one sister, Barbara Noe of Chesterfield, MO; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three aunts; 16 nieces and nephews; 21 grand nieces and nephews; and eight great-grand nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in law, Donald and Esta Cashmer; two brothers, Bobbie and Alvis Noe; son-in-law, Ralph Hall; brother-in-law, Clyde Phelps; and sister-in-law, Diane Noe.
He retired from Caterpillar in Pontiac and lived in Pontiac and Cornell prior to moving to southernmost IL.
Memorials may be directed to American Parkinson Disease Association or Lake of Egypt Christian Church, Marion, IL.
