Seeds set for tourneys
The seeds are set for the upcoming holiday basketball tournaments here in Central Illinois.
For the upcoming State Farm Holiday Classic, area teams seeded the highest include the El Paso-Gridley boys and Central Catholic High School girls. Central Catholic, with a 6-3 record, is seeded 5 in the small school girls division and will play Rockford Lutheran in the opening round of play Dec. 26.
El Paso-Gridley is undefeated and also had a 5 seed in the small school boys and will battle Winnebago in its opening game.
In the Pontiac Holiday Tournament, Bloom Township received the top seed and Chicago Curie is number 2. Danville is number 3 and Bloomington High School was seeded fourth. The Pontiac tournament will be held Dec. 27-29 with the championship game played Dec. 29 at 9 p.m.
