TAYLORVILLE - Residents across Illinois are cleaning up after powerful thunderstorms spawned tornadoes Saturday afternoon and evening.

Major damage was reported throughout the town of Taylorville and big storms also rolled through western Illinois and parts of central Illinois. A barn was destroyed near Colfax in McLean County while some livestock were lost from the same area.

Gov. Bruce Rauner and Congressman Rodney Davis surveyed the tornado damage around Taylorville on Sunday.
