First big winter storm hits
The weather outside is frightful and it's still November.
Parts of northwestern and west Central Illinois were hit with blizzard conditions which began Sunday night with strong winds and snow and lasted throughout Monday. Many locations in western Illinois reported around a foot of snow. There were traffic issues on I-74 and other major highways and interstates and motorists were even stranded in some places.
Locations farther east in the state didn't receive as much snow although the winds were still an issue causing power outages and prompting some school cancellations and delays.
