Illinois has a new governor after Democrat JB Pritzker defeated incumbent Republican Bruce Rauner in Tuesday’s election.
Rauner conceded to Pritzker soon after the polls closed and told his campaign followers that this is a time to come together and unite. Rauner is hopeful for a smooth transition between the two administrations.
Democrat Kwame Raoul defeated Republican Erika Harold in the race for Illinois Attorney General. Also, State Treasurer Mike Frerichs and Secretary of State Jesse White, both Democrats, each won re-election along with Comptroller Susana Mendoza.
