07-09/ a sheriff’s deputy responded to a reported residential burglary in Piper City. The resident believed person(s) unknown entered the residence during the night and stole prescription medication.
07-10/ a sheriff’s deputy arrested a male subject in Paxton for criminal damage to state supported property. This was from an incident last week of vehicles driving through a ditch that had been freshly seeded and landscaped along a county road in the “Dog Town” area.
07-10/ sheriff’s deputies and Illinois State Police assisted Livingston County Sheriff’s deputies with a subject that had ran from a traffic stop in Livingston County. A perimeter was set up around a grain bin complex in Piper City and the suspect was found and arrested without further incident. The subject was turned over to Livingston County deputies.
07-10/ sheriff’s deputies responded to a violent domestic at a Piper City residence. A male subject was arrested for aggravated domestic battery. Two women in the household received injuries.
07-11/ sheriff’s deputies responded to a two vehicle crash at 1600E and 100N intersection, southwest of Paxton. A red dodge car was traveling southbound on 1600E and failed to stop at the stop intersection of 100N road. The red car travelled into the intersection and struck a black dodge Ram pickup truck that had been travelling eastbound. Four people were transported to Carle hospital in Champaign. One female in the red car was pronounce deceased and the other victim was treated for serious injuries. The two victims in the pickup truck, including a male and his 10 year old daughter, were treated for non-life threatening injuries. The Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the crash.
07-11/a sheriff’s deputy and United States Marshals made a warrant arrest at a Piper City residence. A male was arrested on a Tennessee warrant for kidnapping and other charges.
07-12/a sheriff’s deputy responded to a rural Piper City business. The owner of the business reported a theft of scrap metal and welding equipment.
07-12/a sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of North Green Street in Roberts. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
07-12/a sheriff’s deputy assisted Gibson City police officers with a warrant arrest.
07-13/a sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of East Main Street in Melvin. The driver was arrested for having a driver’s license that was expired for over three years.
07-13/ a sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop at Route 54 & 1000E Road in rural Melvin. The driver was wanted on a Ford County warrant and arrested without incident.
07-13/ a sheriff’s deputy responded to a single vehicle crash at Route 45 & 200N Road in rural Paxton. The driver stated he had swerved to avoid a deer in the roadway, which caused him to go into a ditch and culvert. The driver was issued citations for the crash.
07-14/a sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop at Route 9 & 2400E Road in rural Clarence. The driver was arrested for driving while license suspended.
07-14/ a sheriff’s deputy responded to a suspicious vehicle parked near a pond at 1800E & 200N Road in rural Clarence. A subject was found in the vehicle and it was determined he was in need of a mental health evaluation. He was transported to the hospital.
07-16/a sheriff’s deputy assisted a Ford County Probation officer with a compliance check of a person on probation at a Melvin residence. The female probationer was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and charged with a probation violation.
07-18/a sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of East 1st Street in Gibson City. The driver was arrested for driving while license suspended.
07-20/a sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop on Route 47 & Peregrine Place in Gibson City. The driver was arrested for driving while license suspended and obstructing justice.
07-21/a sheriff’s deputy assisted Paxton Police officers with a warrant arrest.
