One dead in Livingston County wreck

CHATSWORTH – A 61-year-old woman from Mount Vernon, Illinois has died following an accident Friday near Chatsworth at Route 24 and County Road 3350 East.

Livingston County Coroner Danny Watson reports Debra J. Martin was transported to OSF St. James Medical Center in Pontiac by SELCAS Ambulance and was pronounced dead at 4:19 p.m. An autopsy was ordered by the coroner’s office.

Martin was reportedly driving a green 2004 Chevy Malibu when it collided with a white Freightliner semi tractor-trailer leased to Sparhawk Trucking of Wisconsin. The truck driver’s condition is unknown.

Responding agencies included Chatsworth Fire and Ambulance, SELCAS, Illinois State Police, Livingston County Sheriff’s Police and the Illinois State Police Reconstruction Unit. The accident, which remains under investigation, was called into Vermilion Valley E911 Dispatch at 2:51 p.m.
