PENFIELD – It feels as if you have entered 1930 when walking through the doors of the Historic Farm Museum organized by the I&I Antique Tractor and Gas Engine Club.

The museum is open during this weekend’s Historic Farm Days event which runs through Sunday at Penfield in east central Illinois. A general merchandise store is one of the many attractions on display.

“You learn a lot from the people that come through and remember that and explain it to their children or grandchildren,” said Betty Bensyl of the I&I Auxiliary.

According to Bensyl, only women came through the display area years ago but now just as many men walk through. The museum items are either on loan or have been donated by individuals.

“We are working on a one-room school which we hope to have open next year,” Bensyl added.
