Dwight fire claims two lives
DWIGHT – A house fire in the 100 block of South Union Street in Dwight has claimed two lives.
Officials say the men, who were later discovered on the first floor of the home, died early Wednesday. Two other occupants on the second floor reportedly escaped unharmed. Crews discovered the structure heavily engulfed in flames upon their arrival.
Responding agencies came from Dwight, Pontiac, Odell, Gardner, Braidwood, Braceville, Campus-Emington, Morris, Coal City, Limestone and Mazon. Ambulance personnel from SECLAS, Dwight and Duffy Ambulance all responded to the scene as well.
The fire remains under investigation.
