Heffner nominated for U.S. Marshal

The Bloomington Police Department and the city confirm that Bloomington’s police chief has been nominated for U.S. Marshal for the central district of Illinois.

A press release was issued this week by U.S. Senators Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth regarding Brendan Heffner’s nomination.

The chief stated, “While I am honored to have received this nomination, it still must be voted on and approved by the Senate.”

Heffner adds that the Bloomington Police Department and local citizens remain his top priority until the nomination is voted on by the Senate.
